IMPORTANT

It is your responsibility to ensure you are fully vaccinated and have done regular antigen tests on the run up to the retreat. Most importantly on the day of leaving home we ask if you could please do a test.

As we are such a fabulous group of people and I know everyone is very thorough I know you will all be very careful in this matter, to protect our wonderful retreaters. I would like to thank you in advance for this.

If anyone does test positive, you will not loose your money and you will receive a refund.

Also can you bring hand sanitiser, and a supply of masks and it might be a good idea to bring a couple of antigen tests with you.

It will also be a good idea, to bring a warm fleece or jumper, we are not intending on it being cold, but we will open the doors for a few minutes every hour or so to refresh the air.

We are taking as many precautions as possible to enable a fun and safe retreat.

The Projects

We have one main project this year and one challenge during the retreat.

As always you don't have to take part and you are welcome to work on your own projects.

BOHO 25

This beautiful bright quilt is what we need right now, but the pattern would work in any colour way. Examples would be black and white, autumnal, traditional, Christmas, blue and white, modern....the list goes on.

** Picture of the quilt this morning on the washing line, I will add updated picture of it quilted when I have quilted it.

We will have plenty of bright fabrics with us, but if anyone needs a kit put together in a particular colour please let us know by the 20th February.

Requirements.

Group 1: 14 fat quarters with geometric or a large pattern in a mix of colours to suit your chosen colour scheme. Fat quarters are required because of the way the fabric is cut.

Group 2: 11 fat quarter  blenders - plain or small pattern - pick some of the colours from group 1 and pick blenders or fabric with not a lot of pattern to match. (These do not have to be fat quarters)

Borders

Border 1 - 30 inches

Border 2- 50 inches

Binding - 25 inches

Challenge

(Only available to people who arrive on the first day of each retreat, unless you can give us the bag of fabric in advance)

This year there is a challenge- we ask anyone who would like to take part to put 500 gm ( just over 1 lb)  of fabric into a clear plastic bag with your name on. There needs to be a good mix of fabric. Fat quarters or similar would be ideal. if you have smaller pieces that's ok, but no smaller than  8 x 8 inches ( that's just a guide, could be 7 x 10 etc ) you can put in fabrics from left over projects or fabrics your not sure what to do with. Be thoughtful as you will be getting back other peoples fabrics. The fabrics do not need to match, but they need to be fabrics you like.

This is how it works.

Once we receive everyone's fabrics we will mix them all up and put into colour groups. You will receive your bag back with a mixture of fabrics ready to make a project. You can start at the retreat or take it home and bring it back for next year to show and tell.

During the retreat you will receive a pattern and a demo on how to put a scrap quilt together with random sized pieces.

So that's it for now. Roll on to the 1st March.
